Courage To Take Risks

Are you afraid of taking risks? The biggest risk is not taking one. In the end, we only regret the chances we don’t take. With that being said, if you cannot stop thinking about it, it’s worth taking the risk.

When I made up in my Mind who I wanted to become and where I wanted to be, I became less afraid of speaking my big ideas and dreams to whoever asked, and had no problem with taking steps forward no matter what others thought.

I remember in 2013, interviewing for a VP position at a credit union after years of working in the banking industry, and the President asked me where do I see myself in 5-10years? As I looked him in the eyes as we are taught when we are talking to someone, I passionately responded “As a CEO of a company”, and smiled with confidence and grace. He chuckled behind my response but he gave me a look that he knew I was different, determined and a straight forward.

In December of 2016, God spoke to me and showed me through my accomplishments after being committed to building banks and credit union portfolios while helping companies grow that I can do the same thing for my husband and I business. That is when I realized that every position I held prepared me for this moment... the day I made A Decision to turn in my resignation, Walk by Faith and go All In with my husband in building our own Electrical business. God promoted me to CoOwner.

Was I nervous? Yes. Was I scared? Yes. But the vision that God showed my husband and I, we believed, not to mention, we prayed for this day to come. What comforted me, was God’s Word in Philippians 1:6, “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” It is Gods Word I Believe and Stand on, because His Word is True.

It’s been almost 5 years, and we ate still standing by the grace of God. We’ve had some Wins and we’ve had some challenges. Growth never happens without obstacles, The key is to not allow the obstacles to be bigger than your God. Tough times will come, and because you are human you will go through times where you doubt, fear, and even think about giving up, but then you have to ask yourself, “Whose report will I believe. Whose Word am I standing on?” It’s easy to get stuck in pity and playing it safe. It takes courage to rise and keep moving, Growth never happens in your comfort zone. You must lake risks in life. The risk is not taking any risk. One decision can change the trajectory of you and your families lives.

Today, my husband and I provide careers for individuals to have a better life in order to provide for their families. They have the opportunity to take advantage of employee benefits such as health/dental/vision and 4O1K. The same employer benefits that was offered to me when I sat in the interview eight years ago, God chose little ole me as His vessel to now be in a position to offer our employees the same benefits. God is amazing!

Will you trust God when He tell you it's time to walk by faith? God will use You if You have the Courage to let Him and the patience to see it through.
